My language barrier was not a problem as the hospital has an impressive way to help the patients communicate with the doctor through a translator.So far, I am quite happy with the treatment I have been getting from Vejthani Hospital. What are the hospitals like in Thailand?

I was living in Canada and was diagnosed with skin cancer on my face. The surgery was considered elective as it was not melanoma cancer, I would have to wait 12–14 months to have the surgery. It would have been done at no cost if I waited for the operation.

I knew a bit about medical tourism and did a study of countries and after looking at 7 countries I chose America and Thailand. The cost for the surgery was quoted at $25&27,000. In the US. The quote from Thailand was for $7,000. I thoroughly reviewed Vejthani Hospital in Bangkok and it was JCIA approved and the surgeon was board certified by America. I decided to have the surgery at Vejthani in Bangkok.

I was treated extremely well, the hospital was very clean and the staff were great. I was treated as a very valuable customer, not a number. The surgeon did an excellent job and the result was all that I had hoped for. The hospital has an adjoining apartment for family members accompanying patients, or for post-op patients that did not require hospitalization. That is where I stayed for a week and it was equal to very good hotels in Canada.

I met several other foreigners from different countries who had decided to have their surgeries performed there and every single one was happy with the treatment the received. If you have read this far you must know I would highly recommend either Vejthani or Bumrungrad hospital in Bangkok.
